Some signs and symptoms of pregnancy include:
- missed periods
- frequent urination
- sore breasts
- increased fatigue
If you have one or more of these signs, you may be wondering if you really are pregnant. One way to find out is by taking a pregnancy test. The tests we use are non-invasive and reliable. In fact, the manufacturer states that they are 99% accurate; of course you’ll need a medical professional to tell you for sure. You shouldn’t base your decisions on the results of a single test. Even if you have a positive pregnancy test, (at home or at the center) it doesn’t prove that you have a pregnancy progressing. Having an ultrasound done is the best way to find out what’s going on.
Our Nurse Manager is specially trained to perform limited ultrasounds during the first trimester. She can look for a baby’s heartbeat and can approximate your due date if you are pregnant. The Doctor who reads your ultrasound will also look for any signs of miscarriage or tubal pregnancy (a rare but possibly life-threatening condition.)
Ultrasounds at the South Texas Pregnancy Care Center are done free of charge as a courtesy for our clients. They are an important service provided by our Nurse who can also answer any questions you may have about pregnancy, abortion, and your options.
